I’m always trying to design products to help simplify going places with your kids. When I was pregnant with my fifth child, I wanted to design a new diaper bag for my line. At some point, I thought, ‘I’m always the one carrying the diaper bag. Why not design one my husband could carry?’ So I designed a lightweight, faux leather sling pack with a rugged look. It also has the same EZ-wipe system as other bags in my line that allows one-handed access to diapers and wipes. There are other masculine diaper bags out there, but nothing like these. One of my most important goals has always been to design a boutique-looking bag at an affordable price.
We have samples of the DadPack available and have been in contact with our overseas agents to research pricing and find out how quickly we can start production. I’m also in the process of trying to license my bag line. I’ve found the best way to grow my business has been to pitch my idea to a large company who can market it and sell it. It’s not easy to do, but I recently licensed another one of my inventions and that was exciting for me!
